Yes - but it works differently depending on whether you’re using an Android or iOS device to download.
The easiest option is to use the Bandcamp Fan app (Android app / iOS app) to stream your purchases conveniently. It also works with Android Auto, Chromecast, and Apple CarPlay.
If you want the actual music files saved on your phone or tablet, here’s how it works:
On Android
You can download and play your music files directly, but the process varies depending on your phone.
Simple method (works on many Samsung devices):
Download your purchase from your collection in the app, or email receipt.
In your Downloads folder, tap the .zip file.
Tap Extract.
Open your music player (e.g., Google Play Music or another app) and listen.
More detailed method (if the simple one doesn’t work):
Download your purchase from your collection in the app, or email receipt.
In your Downloads folder, tap the .zip file. (If it won’t open, install a file manager app like Files by Google)
Unzip the file into your Downloads folder.
Move the unzipped music into your Music folder (usually /sdcard/Music).
Open your music player app and enjoy!
Troubleshooting for Android
Pick the right format: If unsure, choose MP3 (plays almost everywhere). FLAC works too, but you’ll need a player that supports it, and downloads are larger.
Install an unzip app: If your phone can’t open .zip files, grab an app like Files by Google.
Move files to the Music folder: Some players won’t recognize your songs unless they’re in /sdcard/Music.
On iOS
Direct downloads are more limited on iOS due to Apple’s restrictions. You cannot add files directly to the Apple Music app, but you can still download and listen in other apps.
Tap “Download your purchase” in your email receipt.
Your files will arrive as a .zip archive.
Open the Files app and unzip the folder.
Move the tracks into a music player app that supports local files (not Apple’s Music app).
Hit play and enjoy!
Tip: If you want your music inside Apple’s Music app, download to a computer first, then sync to your iOS device using Finder/iTunes.
