Reporting digital sales: To get album sales on Bandcamp reported to music charts, you'll need a UPC. To get track sales reported, you'll need ISRCs for each track. In the good old days of compact discs, these codes were burned into a special track on your CD by a mastering engineer. On Bandcamp you can just add the codes along with the artwork, lyrics and other info on your release right in the track or album editor:
Reporting physical merch sales: If you’d like us to report sales of any physical formats (vinyl, cassettes, CDs) to the US and Canadian charts, you’ll need to enter a UPC/EAN code for the item in the merch editor:
When you add a UPC/EAN to a physical item with a download, we’ll report that sale to SoundScan when the order is marked as shipped. As of October 2020, Billboard no longer allows merchandise (t-shirts, tote bags, tickets, etc.) to be bundled with physical albums.
Outside of North America, physical sales are counted as digital sales, assuming the digital component has a valid UPC. ARIA Charts and NZ Music Charts report these sales when they are purchased, while the Official Charts (UK and Ireland), report these sales only when they are streamed or downloaded.
