We recommend mastering your audio for vinyl. Many studios have extensive experience mastering for vinyl and offer this option at an additional cost. When setting up your campaign, you’ll have the option to raise your campaign goal to account for any extra mastering costs, if you’d like.
We work with vinyl plants that use advanced software and techniques for cutting records with DMM processing, meaning it is sometimes possible to press records using the same master for CDs or digital downloads. There are some exceptions, though: some ambient and electronic albums are best pressed to vinyl using vinyl-mastered audio. Your vinyl rep will help you determine what is best for your record.
