Descriptions give you a chance to tell your fans what makes your album special – so special that you’re raising money to have it pressed to vinyl – and what owning a vinyl copy of it means. It’s a great opportunity to share meaningful things about your artistic endeavor, like the inspiration behind it, or what went into creating it. The fans reading what you write will be the people who appreciate your work the most, so let them know that by participating, they will be playing an important and active role in helping you complete your vision.
The level of enthusiasm you kindle among your fans will be key to the success of your campaign. It would be boring to recycle text from elsewhere, and for that reason, we strongly advise you to avoid reusing the description of the same album from its Bandcamp album page.
And this much seems certain: descriptions work best when told in your own, authentic voice. Humility and sincerity go a long way too.
Here are a few examples::
Yazz Ahmend / A Shoal of Souls
Amon Tobin / Only Child Tyrant
