Payments for digital sales are first processed by Bandcamp, then paid out to your PayPal account in bulk 24-48 hours later. Here’s a bit more on how things work. Visit your Payment Summary page, which is linked from the Sales section of your Tools page, to view a breakdown of your recently-completed and upcoming payouts and the included transactions.
If your payout is currently in progress and you haven’t yet received those funds, you’ll want to check that your email address is correct and that you’ve set up your PayPal account. If you entered the wrong email, that’s no problem. Read on here for more details. If you haven’t yet set up your PayPal, you should be able to claim those funds as soon as your account is created and verified.
If the date of your payout has moved, that likely means we’ve attempted to send funds to your account, but PayPal declined the transaction. This usually means that either PayPal has placed restrictions on your account or you may be in a geographic location where PayPal offers limited support. In that case, we recommend you get in touch with PayPal directly for troubleshooting.
If the payment was for physical merch, you’ll find more information right over here. For a complete record of your sales and payouts, you’ll also be able to export a copy of your sales report from your Tools page, which will include detailed breakdowns of each transaction.
If you didn’t receive your funds and it's been a few days, there’s a chance that the sale went to Bandcamp to cover your revenue share balance. You can always check your outstanding balance by downloading your sales report and checking the balance of revenue share column.
Because funds from physical merch orders typically go directly to your account, we tally our fees (aka your “revenue share balance”) and collect from future sales (e.g. a percentage of your digital sales or an entire physical sale less than the owed balance).
For this reason, we recommend you watch your Cha-Ching emails to keep track of your balance (rather than your PayPal emails) or periodically visit your Merch Orders menu (accessible via your Tools page) to keep track of sales.
