For digital items, Bandcamp’s fee is 15%. We call this fee our revenue share. This rate drops to 10% as soon as you reach $5,000 USD in sales (and stays there, provided you’ve made at least $5,000 in the past 12 months).
For physical items, Bandcamp’s revenue share is 10%. Shipping and tax, if applicable, are not included when calculating this fee.
Payment processor fees are separate and vary by transaction size, but typically range between 4 and 6%.
For additional fan contribution on a sale, this amount is considered a "tip" and is not taxed. Please note that Bandcamp still collects revenue share on the first $100 for additional contributions.
If your work is covered by a collection society, you will also see a fee attributed to the Collection Society Share. This is a percentage of the sale price, determined by the location of the fan. Bandcamp works with collection societies to report and distribute publishing royalties earned. These are collected from sales and later paid out to songwriters or publishers. For more information, check out our FAQs on Collection Societies.
A note about higher-priced items:
Because expensive items (like deluxe packages and beat licenses) are sometimes sold through Bandcamp and because fans occasionally use name-your-price to pay hundreds of dollars for a single album or track, the revenue share applies to the first $100 of an item only (or the total when more than one of that item is purchased).
