Playlists have had a glow-up!
Say hello to Playlists Web BETA! Our new web playlist view allows you to make your fan app playlists public, grab a shareable link, and show them off to the Bandcamp community.
Here’s the lowdown:
• Create your playlist in the Bandcamp fan app (not on the website).
• Use songs from your collection only (this includes music redeemed using a code)—we’re all about the music you already own and love.
• You can listen to your own playlists in the fan app anytime.
• Want to share them? Make them public and listen via the web.
• Friends and fans can listen too—but only 3 plays per track for songs they don’t own (or as limited by the artist).
How do I make a playlist?
You’ll need to use the fan app. Head here for a guide.
How can I get a link for my playlist?
You’ll need to publish it first! See right below.
How do I publish/unpublish a playlist?
On the web (for already published playlists):
• Click the Public/Private button at the top of the playlist, then confirm in the pop-up.
In the fan app:
• Tap More > Make playlist public/private
• Tap the Share icon
• Or, in your playlist list, press and hold on a playlist > Make playlist public/private
Why “Beta”?
We’re still testing and improving things! If you have feedback, we’d love to hear it. Now’s the perfect time to build your ‘late-night drive’ or ‘cooking-up-a-feast’ playlist and start sharing.
Can I stream the songs in a playlist an unlimited number of times?
If you already own the songs, you can stream them an unlimited number of times. You will be limited to 3 streams (or whatever the artist has set) for any unowned tracks.
Why have some of the tracks disappeared from my playlist?
Some tracks (like private, deleted, or non-streaming ones) won’t show up in public playlists—even for you. We’ll give you a heads-up if any of these are in your playlist when you try to publish it.
I don’t have a fan account. Can I still listen to playlists?
You must be logged into a fan account to access playlists. If you don’t have a fan account yet, what are you waiting for? They are free to create, and you can sign up here.
If you already have a fan account but have noticed you can only view the playlist but not listen, ensure you are logged in to your fan account first. If you click a track and are not yet logged in, you'll be prompted to do so.
Can I edit playlists on the web?
Not yet—but it’s coming soon after the BETA launch! Think of your fan app as a ‘creation station’ for making those playlists.
Can I listen to my own playlists via the web?
Yes! Once you publish your playlist in the fan app, just grab the link and listen on the web. Heads up: playlists won’t appear in your web collection view yet—but that’s coming soon too!
